Bathroom Wall Mirrors
Creating an Illusion of Depth
Bathroom wall mirrors can be used to create depth in your bathroom, especially important for making a small bathroom feel larger than its actual size.
Some ideas in placing mirrors in your bathroom besides the most obvious placement above your vanity cabinet are:
- On your wall in a place that can take a large mirror, floor to ceiling, approximately 4 feet or more in width. This type of mirror placement creates depth and gives you a large area to see your reflection.
- On the backside of your bathroom door. A mirror on the bathroom door can serve as a full length mirror placement that you can use to quickly look yourself over before leaving your home.
- Your tub enclosure, sliding glass door, can have a reflective glass. This application helps to your tub door serve two important functions: door and mirror.
- Other open areas on your bathroom walls
Wall mirrors can come in many styles and shapes. Some standard styles and shapes you may find are:
- Framed or unframed
Design Tip: Pay particular attention to the placement of any mirrors in your bathroom design planning. The reflection in the mirror can be something desirable or undesirable depending on your likes and dislikes.
Some good things that a mirror can reflect are things like a window, beautiful shower curtain or door, or a decoration such as a painting or other bathroom decor.
Some things to avoid in a mirror reflection would be excess lighting, a toilet (sometimes difficult to avoid), and dirty laundry baskets.
